Teacher Rene

Piano Teacher

Holds Trinity Piano ATCL Diploma + Grade 8 ABRSM Practical, Grade 5 ABRSM Theory, Grade 6 Yamaha Practical Piano Exam, Bachelor of Education (with honours) in Instrumental and Vocal Teaching, and Diploma in Music & Audio Technology.

Rene started her classical piano training at age five. At seven, she began self-learning pop songs, eventually learning to play by ear. Her love for pop music led her to pursue a diploma in music production at Singapore Polytechnic.

Upon graduating, Rene reflected on her experiences and realised that alongside her love for performing, she had frequently helped her friends with their learning and found it deeply rewarding. This led her to pursue a degree at NAFA to strengthen her classical foundation and better equip herself for a career in teaching.

As an educator, Rene believes students learn best through self-motivation rather than obligation. Hence, she combines pop music on top of classical music to make learning enjoyable and relevant, encouraging them to explore songs that resonate personally with them. Rene believes that knowledge should be shared and passed down to nurture the next generation. She hopes to groom students to reach their full potential and share their unique gifts with the world.
