Holds a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Instrumental & Vocal Teaching from NAFA, Diploma in Music Teaching from NAFA, and Grade 8 ABRSM Violin Performance with distinction.
Teacher Freda is a dedicated violinist and music educator based in Singapore, experienced in teaching both one-to-one and group classes for learners of all ages. She has guided students through music examinations and ensemble performances. In 2021, Teacher Freda achieved a Distinction in her ABRSM Grade 8 Violin Examination. She later completed her formal studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). She currently holds both a Diploma in Music Teaching and a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Instrumental and Vocal Teaching, conferred by the Royal College of Music (RCM) London and NAFA.
Teacher Freda has participated in numerous music events. One highlight was an original string quartet composition titled 'Day', performed at the National Gallery of Singapore with NAFA dancers, inspired by the sculpture of the same name by the late Singaporean-born British sculptor Kim Lim. She is also an active ensemble musician, having performed with the NAFA String Ensemble, Braddel Heights Junior Orchestra and the Emmanuel Symphony Orchestra. Her classical training and extensive teaching experience has equipped her with a strong foundation in violin pedagogy and music learning across different age groups and musical contexts.
Teacher Freda believes music education nurtures creativity, confidence, and personal growth. Whether students are learning for leisure or preparing for examinations, she tailors each lesson to meet her students’ goals with warmth and patience.
